Dr Annalisa Marzano

Annalisa Marzano completed a laurea cum laude in Classics and Roman History at the University of Florence and a M.Phil. and Ph.D. in Classical Studies at Columbia University (New York), under the supervision of W. V. Harris. She is currently Research Assistant for this project and W. Golding Research Fellow at Brasenose College. Her research interests rest in the spheres of Roman social and economic history and Roman archaeology. Recent and current research projects focus on the economic and social history of villas in central Italy (Roman Villas in Central Italy. A Social and Economic History. Leiden 2007), the political implications of public banquets, coinage and propaganda, and the economic importance of fish breeding and fish salting in Roman Italy.
