The frames are of oak, the planking (lead-sheathed) of soft wood. The main mast survives, unusually, in position, square as far as the main beam and circular above. A variety of pottery: black-gloss ware, including Campanian A plates and 'imitation Campanian' bowls. Some is said to have been stacked between the amphorae. A number of Lamboglia 2 amphorae. Black-gloss plates and jugs, grey ware, cooking ware and jugs with external slip, coated with a black lining internally. Seven bronze helmets of different types, possibly for use by the crew or as part of a passenger's belongings. |
